"I said you're not the most inane model I've ever had, but you're starting to make me wonder." he shot back gruffly...but there was heat lacking in his aggravated tone. It was hard to hold onto his anger as he stole another glance at her, captivated by the way the tendons in her neck stood out as she looked towards the window. His head dropped again, capturing the curvature of each with a few deft strokes...then reached for his eraser and scrubbed out part of one...then darkened it, finally satisfied he had the moment on paper.

Her request was met with a world-weary sigh he didn't feel. No, he was calmer now...far calmer. The alcohol, the conversation...the bloody damn drawing, it helped more than he cared to admit.

I woke up alone, and I came looking for you.

"You can have a drink if you'll bloody well lie down." he relented with an angry sneer, though his tone was still softer, gentler than it should have been. Snapping his pad shut, he pocketed his eraser and slid the pencil back into the binding of his sketch pad. Rising, he walked around his desk and offered her a hand up from her seat.

"Bourboun's in the sitting room." he explained shortly, reaching out to deftly pick up his own glass with his free hand. "You can kip on the sofa if you insist on harassing me in lieu of getting any actual rest."
